Ready for WWC Connect
From 19 October 2026, Victorian organisations must use WWC Connect to tell the Social Services Regulator (SSR) when people start and stop child-related work. vic.gov.au
What the new rules say
- Check the clearance with the WWC status checker before engaging someone. vic.gov.au
- Connect paid workers and contractors within 7 days, volunteers within 21 days, and record when they stop. Vic Department of Education
- Record evidence of the checks and connection, and Maintain records as people start, stop or change contact details. vic.gov.au
- Connecting existing workers and volunteers is strongly encouraged so you get notified if a clearance changes. vic.gov.au
- Paid workers need an Employee clearance, not a Volunteer one, and you must know when clearances expire. vic.gov.au
How KeepClear helps
KeepClear keeps one register of staff, volunteers and labour-hire with start and stop dates, card type and expiry. It flags anyone who is not yet connected inside the 7 or 21 day window and exports a file you can use for WWC Connect's bulk load. KeepClear does not replace WWC Connect and is not run by the SSR.
